Oh wow, WTG Tris Could try Megs metal polish from Halfords? Bought some for mine but haven't used it yet, the new shampoo I bought seems to do a good enough job on it already

I've seen it mentioned on CYC but don't know much about it... it's probably only a metal polish anyway, the Meguiars one is no doubt just as good (and easily available!) I'll use it later on on my parents car and let you know Their exhaust triangle things (new shape Civic) are filthy, needs sorting before they PX it lol

I haven't cleaned my exhaust tip since 2006, lol.
Been tempted to spray paint it satin black but it'd probably peel?

Tried the Megs polish, came up really well... didn't get the carbon deposits off though.
Gonna try some tar remover tomorrow and see if that gets it off...

Hi temp paint? Dunno, how heat resistant is Hammerite spray paint? lol Do I have to rub the surface down first

Elbow grease, sandpaper, wire wool, Autosol.
Then refine and protect with Meguiars all metal polish. That's what I do.
Hammerite spray paint is heat resistant Tris, all Hammerite paints are. The exhaust tip doesn't get that hot.
