Yesterday an Audi A3 1.9 TDi came into my work, the owner wanted a tail light bulb replaced and also noted that he had just bought the car from the popular car supermarket, CarGiant. He wanted a general inspection of the car to make sure everything was ok. It was an 04 plate and had done over 91,000 miles already. So I checked ElsaWin online to see if there was any history of work by Audi dealers on the car, and there wasn't. I checked the service book to see if there was any history of services, recalls, cambelts, brake fluid services, air con services etc etc. But the book wasn't there, it was just a duplicate service book which was blank.
So I began listing all the things outstanding or wrong with the car and managed to fill two A4 sized report sheets. Including discs and pads all round, as the discs were badly pitted and corroded, yet it looked like they'd had new brake pads fairly recently

Another thing I was alarmed at was a dodgy puncture repair job, just millimetres from the side wall, which is illegal.
So after noting everything down and getting an estimate for over £1,000 worth of parts alone I replaced the bulb it had originally come in for.
This is a car which had just been bought from CarGaint

I hope he's got the receipt

I've said it before and I'll say it again, never ever ever buy a car from a car supermarket! Ever!
